Instead of yakitori being slapped with thick sweet brown /black sauce.
I prefer basic seasoning like salt and pepper that brings out the natural sweetness and juicyness of the vegetable or meat in yakitori. Honestly, maybe I have yet to taste any mind-blowing yakitori that taste awesome with all the thick sweet sauce of which I would recommend.
Basic seasoning is also a good gauge of whether or not fresh ingredients are used in their skewers. With sweet thick sauce, it's hard to tell from the taste the freshness of the ingredient, unless you tasted the texture.
I have brought a few friends here and they all raved about this place. Many Japanese patronages this yakitori restaurant too.A great place to chill and drink alcohol with friends and enjoy tasty Japanese skewers, appetizers or dishes. My no.1 place for yakitori! They use charcoal to grill their food too, making it so much better than the rest of the yakitoris out there.
Be warned, reservation is required during evening time as it can get very crowded. And when it's full-house they do not entertain any walk-ins.
Personally, I find the alcoholic drinks they offer pretty normal, simply nothing out of the blue. But the food was the best yakitoris I had in Singapore. If you are not interested in yakitori skewers, get their chicken soba or chicken porridge. You won't regret it :)

#1 Chicken Skin.
Thin, Juicy, Crispy. That's it! Simplicity at its best. Always sold out by night time.
Just love how the chicken flavour comes out through the oil on its skin. The juicy taste just lingers in the tastebud.
So amazed by how this small oval-shaped skewer is so delicious. It's mini in size but succulent, the texture is ah-mazing, And it's really juicy.
And secondly, the top layer of the chicken tail is grilled to perfection. Crisp on the outside juicy on the inside.
A surprise to the taste bud honestly.
#3 Appetizer; Radish with minced meat and Dashi
The minced meat adds a layer of sweetness to the Dashi.
White radish by itself absorbs the sweetness of the dashi and the minced meat. The combination is pretty decent.
The white radish is soft but not super soft, unlike those radishes which you have boiled in soy sauce for hours. Slightly above average but nothing out of the blue if you like light appetizers this is the one for you. If you ask me, i still prefer soy-braised radish kekeke.
#4 Chicken Zosui / Chicken Porridge
As a person that is not a fan of porridge... and not a fan of Chinese congee except for the one sold at Crystal Jade in Singapore.
This really won my heart. I love this chicken zosui / porridge a-lot.
The stock has this very aromatic and fragrant chicken taste in it. The rice grain is piping hot and each grain is infused in the chicken stock.
And the heavenly egg scent all in that stock. It is unforgettable. Please order this.
Not to mention, the presentation is already appetizing enough *laughs*
Great for sharing between 2 person unless you have an appetite of a monster.

#5 Chicken Soba
Love the thin noodle texture. Love the soup base. The essence of chicken flavor is all in the stock. The green onion toppings and the thread-like red pepper is an absolute match to the soba stock. The chicken breast is sliced thinly and is pretty smooth. Anyone out there will love this chicken soba.
#6 Pork Belly Wrapped with Shiso Leaf
#7 P-man CheeseTaste like green pepper and cheese. I am like crayon shin-chan not a fan of of green pepper or P-man. My friend loves it though. So if you like P-man you can consider ordering this.
#8 Pork Belly with garlic If you are a garlic lover, get this! Each belly is wrapped with a decent chunk of garlic. Enjoy ur Garlic Pork :)
#9 Chicken Breast with Wasabi Dots / Sasami with Wasabi Dots (Right)
#10 Chicken Liver (Left)
Do not worry the wasabi taste is not strong at all. It justs increase the sweetness of the chicken breast.#10 Chicken Liver (Left)
I am surprised by how the chicken breast is not dry,yet moist and tasty. It's not dry and flaky.
A must order.
If you are a fan of chicken liver, you will love yatagarasu chicken liver. It's juicy and tender.
warning: if you are never a fan of chicken liver, i am sorry this is not for you.
#11 Pork Belly with Enoki Mushroom.
Pretty average, but if you like enoki mushroom I guess you won't say no to such a combo. Don't expect anything out of the blue.
#12 Tsubaki (Chicken Wing)
Juicy and tasty. Just get this if it is available. Chicken thigh meat is always tender and the skin is crispy and has a nice charcoal grill taste.
#13 Chicken Gizzard (Sunagimo)
Crunchy and juicy. Texture is more to hard side. I love the texture so I always order this. But not all my friends like it though.#14 Chicken Heart. My friend loves this. It's tender and juicy, a little bit of bloody taste but overall decent. Trust me, it ain't too bad. But if you are not a fan of chicken liver, i won't think you will like this. hahas.
